Conservation Commercial
9 Norris Road

As the M&E consultant for the extensive A&A and attic addition at 9 Norris Road—a conserved heritage property with rich Indian cultural significance—We were responsible for the design and coordination of ACMV, electrical,

plumbing,and sanitary systems.

A critical aspect of my role was ensuring that all new M&E systems were sensitively integrated without impacting the original heritage elements. This involved:

1

ACMV

Selecting compact, non-intrusive solutions such as ductless and variable refrigerant systems, and routing services along existing or concealed pathways to minimize interventions to heritage features.

2

Fire Protection

Implementing surface-mounted or minimally invasive fire protection systems, ensuring compliance while preserving original finishes and materials.

3

Plumbing & Sanitary

Designing routes to avoid disturbance to structural and decorative heritage components, using existing shafts and service corridors where possible, and ensuring reversibility of any interventions.

4

Electrical

Upgrading wiring and distribution discreetly, coordinating with architectural and heritage consultants to conceal conduits and maintain the building’s historic character.

Our Approach

enabled the seamless integration of essential modern services while respecting and preserving the historical and architectural value of the conserved building.
